Bourbon for Beginners

Everything you need to know to start your bourbon journey.

What is Bourbon?

Bourbon is American whiskey made primarily from corn. By law, bourbon must be made from at least 51% corn, aged in new charred oak barrels, and distilled to no more than 160 proof.

How to Taste Bourbon

Start by observing the color, then smell the whiskey. Take a small sip and let it coat your mouth before swallowing. Don't be afraid to add a few drops of water to open up the flavors.

  • Maker's Mark - Sweet and easy-drinking with a wheated mashbill
